Madagascar Missions Trip

Highland Church is excited to be sending a team to Madagascar to work with Wycliffe Bible Translators to serve the people and deliver the scriptures.  This trip is an opportunity for Highland Church to help fulfill the Great Commission as found in Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

This will be a life-changing, Christ-centered trip where we will serve the Kingdom of God!

• Must be at least 15 years of age.

• If under 18, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

• Must be a born-again Christian.

• Must have good references from your pastor.

• Must have a commitment to Missions, serving others, and helping to spread the Gospel.

• Must be willing to live and work as a part of a close-knit team.

• Complete the application form. Return the application and $100 deposit to the Highland Church office. DO NOT PLACE IN THE OFFERING.

• A separate application and deposit must be completed for each family member that is planning on being a part of the trip.

• The Application is considered complete when the form, deposit, and reference form (if needed) are received.

• You may be asked to participate in an in-person interview, especially if you have not been on a Highland Church missions trip before.

• Members of the Missions Trip Coordination Team and one of the Highland Church pastors will review the applications.

• When the application is accepted, you will be contacted and provided with further information.

• Request a form from Tim Michalski. email

• Give the form to your pastor, asking him/her to complete it and mail it to Highland Church. As a courtesy, attach a stamped envelope addressed to the Highland Church office.

• It is very important that team members travel with the team and remain with the team during the entire time that has been committed to the missionary organization.

• The primary purpose of this trip is to be a short-term missionary and not to be a tourist. If the schedule permits, the missionary may arrange a team sight-seeing activity.

• VACCINATIONS: Yellow fever, if traveler has been in a yellow fever endemic country within 6 months of arrival

• A mandatory part of the trip is the training and team building process that occurs at the team meetings.

• Team meetings will be held from April-July.

• This trip is estimated to cost $3,600

• If you truly believe God is calling you, trust Him to help with the finances.

• The trip fee covers round trip airfare, one checked bag each way, lodging, meals during flights and in Madagascar, ground transportation, and training materials.

• In addition, team members are responsible for immunizations, passport costs, meals when traveling, and spending money.

***Your passport should have at least six months of validity remaining from the date of departure with three blank pages.***
